Highlights from the 2010 Summer Festival

People from as far afield as Brazil, New Zealand, China, Japan, Europe and America gathered at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in the English Lake District for the 2010 NKT Summer Festival of Kadampa Buddhism.

Being among the global family of Kadampa Buddhists is a unique and precious opportunity. Beginners and experienced practitioners alike listen to teachings, engage in meditation, and join in discussion, inspiring and learning from each other while relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

This is the first Summer Festival that Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso has not taught directly and yet his presence is everywhere. In the Tharpa Bookshop, the Conservatory Café and the Kadampa Temple, Venerable Geshe-la’s kindness pervades.

The beginning of this year’s Summer Festival was celebrated with the release of advanced copies of Venerable Geshe-la’s latest book, Modern Buddhism.
